Mommy's favorite yarn

There's one thing I've come to understand, mommy does not like anyone playing with her yarn in the closet. I cannot play with any yarn that is in the fabric hanging shelves, I cannot play with any yarn that fell on the ground anywhere, and I cannot play with any yarn that I pull out of her bag. But lately I noticed that she has been playing alot with her own favorite yarn that she leaves on the couch. She plays with two sticks as well as this certain type of yarn. Why is it okay if SHE plays with it?

I decided to try tossing this yarn around today while I was home alone this morning. Mommy would be out doing her exercise for a long time so maybe she wouldn't ever know that I touched it. I pat it around for a while but it didn't roll like the others. I dragged it around but the sticks kept catching on things and it wouldn't let me pull anymore. I got bored and left the yarn in the bedroom for later.

Mommy came home and didn't seem to notice her favorite yarn and sticks had moved, or was it that she didn't mind me playing with it?

As usual mommy went straight to her computer to work, and as usual I did what I could to steal a few minutes of playtime. But after hours of begging mommy to play with MY toys, I decided to bring a toy we both enjoy. I grabbed the yarn ball from the bedroom and dragged it right to her feet. She still didn't seem to notice me at all. I cried and cried for her to play with me and throw the new toy I brought for BOTH of us to have fun with. Finally, a few minutes later, she noticed my new toy but rather than throw it like I had hoped, she took it away and put both the sticks in the yarn! How can she turn away a perfectly good toy like this one? I guess I'll never understand.

Normally she'd get mad at me, but today she laughed at me for bringing her favorite yarn to play with. Though we didn't play with her yarn and sticks, I did manage to get a few minutes of her attention with my good ol' silent chirpy toy! It all worked out for me after all!

A surprise snack

This morning I saw mommy playing with the two fish bowls and I still don't see what is so exciting about watching these little creatures eat, but I managed to climb on the exercise machine to get a closer peek with mommy as she watched them closely.

Sometime later, mommy and daddy were resting on the couch watching a scary movie I was not interested in, so I went to explore the kitchen area and see if I can find any hidden snacks on the floor or counter top. Somehow, in my exploration I found mommys favorite fish just sitting on the counter top not moving! Could it be that she prepared a little snack for me? Maybe that is why she likes to watch them eat! She wants to be sure they are getting fat enough for me to eat!

I devoured the fish that mommy called "Lady Love" - an overly elaborate name for a fish if you asked me - but I did not feel much satisfaction from this snack. It did not even dent my appetite, and it was rather tangy! It was hardly worth forcing the fins down my throat, but at least now I know what a fresh betta fish tastes like.

A few hours later, mommy went to fix herself some food and looked in the bowl to see her precious fish but it was not there - big surprise, heh. What confuses me is, she is blaming ME for the missing fish, but I didn't take it out of it's bowl, I found it on the counter! I promise! Could it be that maybe it wasn't a snack left out for me after all?

Reaching the peep hole

Today was a little colder than it has been lately, not quite as stormy as last night but there was enough rain to keep a purring sound outside. Needless to say I slept peacefully all day while mommy worked at her computer desk and daddy was out at work as usual. When mommy left to bring daddy back I sat by the door in anticipation but as I stared up at it, waiting for it to open, I noticed a black spot somewhere close to the top!

Now, I've seen flies before. I've captured a few and examined them closely and this black spot was no fly at all. You may ask how I know this if I'm so close to the ground while the spot is so high up for me to see clearly. Well to you I answer... I examined it.

Yes, I got a very close and thorough examination of this little black spot five and a half feet up from where I sit on the doormat. Yes, it's true I gathered the results of my examination in fragments during the time I was airborne from a rather strenuous leap before falling back to the ground. Sometimes my landing was a bit off and I'd roll a bit but it was well worth it!

In every moment that I was able to reach the height of the black spot I was able to gather more and more information about this little thing:

1 - It does not move. At least not by my paw.
2 - It is not a spot but a hole.
3 - I cannot bite it.
4 - I can see through it!

You can imagine my excitement in my new discovery today! I am now able to peek out through the hole in fractions of a second at a time! At least for as long as I can keep jumping up to see it.

When mommy and daddy came home I continued my research and kept leaping up to peek through the hole for as long as I could. Sure they laughed at me, and yes.. mommy got it on tape too! Now you too can see how awesome my new discovery is!

My own pet!

Today was my first chance to get a glimpse of what it is like to keep a pet! You might think it's silly for a kitten like me to be given such a big responsibility, but hey! I'm over 18 months old now, I'm a big girl! Besides, it's only a digital pet.. and if you want to even YOU can play with it!

Here's how it happened - this morning mommy showed me a really pretty flashy page that Mrs Debbie sent to her computer, and I saw some cute creatures living on her screen! I waved my paw at it every time the creatures showed up. I was really only expecting to touch it but mommy actually adopted this creature and told me it was my own! It was a baby dragon with blue wings! I named her Sephira, like the dragon I saw before in the tv. I sure hope she doesn't grow to be as big as that one though!

This will be a big responsibility for me. I have to make sure she gets food, I need to tickle her cuz it makes her happy, and unlike me Sephira does not clean herself so I have to bathe her too. On top of that, she gets to have fun with her own friends too! Right now I am her only friend, but if you'd like to meet her you can see her in her home!
